Tribute read at T.T.\'s funeral
Our T.T. was a colourful character
He was a cross between Daniel Boone & Walter Mitty
With his great love of nature
And his ability to tell tall stories
But T.T. had a heart of gold
He loved helping people
He had terrific hands and was gifted with what he could do with them.
He was great with children
At home in the house, he was the BIG BRO
The small boys were the LITTLE BROS
And the small girls were T.T's LITTLE CHICKEN'S
He was a great son to Mammy & Daddy
A great brother and a great uncle
Our whole family has been sincerely touched over the past few days by the vast crowds who gathered to support us in our grief
And show their respect for T.T.
It is a great consolation to know that T.T was loved as much outside as he was inside the family.
I'll ask that everyone here pray, not for, but to T.T.
And pray for us, his family
To help us cope with our great loss.
And never forget him
THE GREAT T.T.DUFFY
A Mother\'s Loss
Me mother, she tells a lot of lies,
She never did before,
But from now until she dies,
She'll tell a whole lot more.
Ask me mother how she is,
And because she can't explain,
She will tell a little lie,
Because she can't describle the pain.
Ask me mother how she is,
She'll say 'I'm alright.'
If that's the truth, then tell me,
Why does she cry each night?
Ask me mother how she is,
She seems to cope so well,
She didn't have the choice you see,
Nor the strength to yell.
Ask me mother how she is,
'I'm fine, I'm well, I'm Coping.'
For Gods sake mother, just tell the truth,
Just say your heart is broken.
She'll love me all her life,
I loved her all of mine,
But if you ask her how she is,
She'll lie and say she's fine.
I am here in Heaven,
I cannot hug from here,
If she lies to you don't listen,
Just hug her and hold her near,
On the day we meet again,
We'll smile and I'll be bold,
I'll say, 'you're lucky to get in here mother,
With all the lies you told!'
A great uncle
Every day is as hard as the last without you.I bet you were proud of the turnout at your funeral, it was unbelievable.....well not really considering you were so well known and loved. Everyone misses you so much, especially the children at home.
Hopefully you're at peace now....and hey, I'm sure there was some tall tales told to St Peter at the Pearly Gates about what happened to you....!!!!!
Love you
Lisa
Never Forgotten
Last night I asked Adam to write a piece for you to put on this site. He answered with 'why???? T.T. is with me all the time and knows what I'm thinking.'
I hope you are with him every minute of every day, looking after him and guarding him.
He loves you very much and misses you. Philomena xx
My Lovely Brother
No one knows how much I miss you. You are on my mind day and night. Please take care of Thomas and give him a hug from me.
I hope and pray that we will all meet some day at the Pearly Gates.
Love from your sister Mary.
An angel taken
For some unknown reason, God decided to take our darling T.T. on January 17th 2008. T.T was my soul mate, my big brother who I depended upon for support. I had him placed high on a pedestal. I loved his attitude to life.....do onto others what you would have done onto yourself......He had wonderful values and principles. He nevered harmed a soul in his life. He was a very learned man, reading up regularly on many different topics. I loved him from the bottom of my heart and respected him. He was a great support and role model to my son. He never valued materialistic possessions and lived a lovely life, getting great solace and entertainment from simple things like nature and mankind.
Heaven is lucky to have you......but I am heartbroken without you. I know that you will be with me regularly and help me through this difficult life. Your memory will live on forever in me and I have deep in my heart many beautiful, treasured memories of you. I was so lucky to have you as a brother.
I love and miss you Bro.........Love Sis xxxxxxx
Our family has been devastated again by the tragic loss of our son and brother: The Great T.T. Duffy just 14 months after suffering the loss of his beloved younger brother Thomas. So sadly missed by: Dad Tim, Mother Mary, Brian, David, Rory, Alan, Moyra, Mary, Rose-Marie, Ann, Carol, Philomena, Boodie, His nephews and nieces and grandnieces and the many friends whom he encountered on his path in life. Words cannot express our feelings right now but our faith is strong and our family bond even greater. May you rest in peace TT and Thomas
A loving brother.
T.T. my dearest big bro, left our lives very tragically following a hit and run accident . T.T. was a terrific brother with a big heart and a wonderful sense of humour and an even better imagination. Our lives have changed dramatically since his sudden departure, our hearts broken. We all hope and pray he is with our other brother Tomasz up there having a great time. We all miss and love our T.T.
Love Lorraine (Boodie)
